The Writer

Cloaked as a would-be author grappling with a crippling case of writer's block, Greg Emerson retreats to a serene Smoky Mountain cabin in hopes that inspiration will strike. He has chased this Idea for his Great American Novel for decades but always fallen short of discovering its essence. 

Mired in painful memories and with the Idea ever out of reach, he comes to fear losing sight of his ambitions—and his sanity. 

Through a menacing Shadow and taunting Voice, the Idea slowly discloses itself to Greg -- but does he dare confront it? Tormented by these demons flashing scenes from his past, Greg contemplates abandoning his dream and even ending his life. 

He must choose whether to abandon his dream of ever becoming a writer or to heed the Idea’s call to confront the traumas from his adolescence.
