About the author
Dr. Lorraine Allen is a new author, a native Memphian, and a retiree and graduate of the University of Memphis. Two nonprofit organizations, The Bartlett Senior Center’s Creative Writers and the Bartlett Christian Writers, allowed her to share her short, humorous, and inspirational stories. Four of her short stories published through these nonprofit organizations are Psalm of Thanksgiving and Praise to God, Man Vs. Woman, The Wedding Pimple, and The Journal of Three Scary Weeks in the Life of a Techie Teen.
Drawing on her own experiences, humor, Christian values, outlook on life, and imagination, she has written her first novel, “Life, Love, and Comfort,” book one of the Leavenville Series. This book draws the reader into the lives of a zany Christian family. The matriarch, Emily acts on what she calls Christian Intuition but the family calls nosiness. Journey with the family as they go through their trials, tribulations, and triumphs with God, love and humor. Her characters allow the reader to know God and feel hope and joy as they go on a journey with her characters and their families.
